Last week, the Board took a trip to our #1SEP high school to see learning in action! 🎓️
Principal Steve Pettit shared updates about the many opportunities available to our students, including our Dual Credit partnership with DMACC, which allows our students to earn college credits for free... while still in high school. (Did you see last week's post with all of our current high school students who made the DMACC President's and Dean's Lists?!)
Many members of our high school team joined the conversation, including several instructional coaches, a counselor, two students, and both our current and incoming superintendents. It was great to hear from our students who shared their perspectives on how things are going at the high school!
🔔One topic: adding 5 more minutes to passing time between classes. Many students (and staff) have shared that the extra time makes it not as hectic and rushed, so the Board and Leadership stepped into the hallway to experience it firsthand! Then they visited a variety of classrooms to see teaching and learning up close. The morning was a great opportunity to see the incredible work happening every day at #1SEP High School! 🐏🖤💛

🙌Let's give a shout out to our amazing @sepfoodandnutrition department. 👩🍳Last week was National Food Service Breakfast Week and our team served up some new, fun breakfast options. 🧇Dutch waffle, yogurt parfait with cinnamon toast crunch topping, sausage and cheese croissant? ...Yes, please! Thanks to our Food and Nutrition department for ensuring our #1SEP students have healthy, fun food options for breakfast and lunch every day so they can focus on learning!
